Speed / Reference sensor. This is the plastic bodied replacement for the original metal bodied units.
There are two of these sensors on the Porsche 944 located on the driver's side of the bell housing behind the engine. When one of these sensors goes bad the car will not start.
Symptoms of a bad Speed / Reference sensor:
- Car cranks over but will not start
- When cranking the car the tach needle does not bounce up from zero
